Scotian Scoop

Introducing: The Scotian Scoop

First of all, if you don’t know who I am, as many don’t, my name is Stacey J. You can find my Facebook here for more personal and specific information about who I am. If you want the “In a nut shell” version. I am blunt, honest, and want to share a bit about my life with others as well as holding people accountable for the state of this country, province, and world we live in. I want to give people who were silenced a voice. I want to share what I learn with you. And sprinkle some personal photos and live streams as well as videos along the way too!

Scotian Scoop is the NEWEST form of media delivering the stories from Nova Scotians. I say “Newest” as in sharing stories related to news is not new, sharing stories that people are ignored for is. It is no surprise that in today’s day and age, and with Facebook censoring news from Canada that many Canadians, and Scotians are missing their information. Not to mention, when things are picked up by local media. They more often than not aren’t telling the entire story and are catering to a soft spoken and timid group that don’t really care about hearing the full story, especially if the story isn’t all rainbows and butterflies.

Some examples of this are:
When a methadone bottle was found outside of a Junior High school in Sackville, Nova Scotia. A security company had witnessed a man inject themselves in the stomach with a needle. While the contents aren’t able to be known as to what he was injecting himself with, said man was seen physically throwing the needle to the ground as they crossed the street waiting for a bus. News reported this but they left out this fact even despite there being a written report. Another situation was they had spent countless hours over multiple days recording content with a women regarding Pallet Homes and the Needles being found far more often than people were comfortable with, if not more than weekly, in the community. Only to see the days worth of content edited down due to higher ups within the broadcasting network. And if you didn’t know based on the video I had made publicly calling out elected officials as to why there was no announcement from them or the school board regarding a student who had fallen on a dirty needle, that too was catered to make excuses like “The student wasn’t on school property” or that “The student found it” which while the school property is debatable, the student wasn’t looking for the needle. Their mother even stated what had happened. They fell on it.

I want to hear stories from all walks of life and all types, some examples I would love to hear about however no story is off limits UNLESS it could have legal ramifications for myself which I won’t be divulging for obvious reasons.

  • Horrors from the hospitals, have you been given less than stellar treatment? Ignored? Seen the treatment nurses or doctors receive? From patients or other staff?
  • Accountability for the elected, it should be no surprise that based on content I share that I am all for holding elected officials accountable. Have you sent emails to your person in power either no response? Have you gotten a response and seen that it hasn’t done anything or you were gas-lit to show you are the one wrong? I want to hear about it. We vote these people in. If they aren’t adequately helping our communities, then our communities need to know for future elections so they don’t get their next terms.
  • Passing on positivity, I’m not just about the sad or depressing information! There are so many situations that are happening in the province that we need to highlight those too. Whether this is someone donating to a reputable charity or maybe a local volunteer who has done something for years because they are able to. Or maybe someone helping you in a time of need, a stranger whom you never met before. Let’s highlight those too!
  • Even some situations where you may have been scammed and are trying to reach people who may have dealt with the same company and how they handled it, or simply to know that you aren’t alone here.

What makes Scotian Scoop different? This is a collaborative effort between myself and the individuals who want to be heard. No editing or surprises. Before I publish the story on the dedicated section of my blog, I will share with you to confirm things are correct. If things need to be shared and you don’t want it shared publicly, that also is okay. I won’t share screen shots, emails, photos, or whatever else you don’t want shared unless you clarify you would like them shared. This is YOUR story that we are telling, and I want you to be in control here. No leaving out information and no catering to a specific agenda. If you aren’t being heard, or haven’t before, that’s about to change. As always though, I will throw my 2 cents in at the end of the post because naturally I do that for mostly everything that I do! I too value my own opinion as I do yours!

As for when they will be published, as you may not know I am a pretty busy person. Being a stay at home parent to 3, a wife, and trying to keep the peace around here, there wont be a dedicated day. I will have blogs scheduled Tuesday and Saturdays as part of my personal schedule for content. When it comes to the Scoop, whenever there is a story, I will be doing my best to get it out as fast as possible with accuracy, honesty, and trust from the people sharing their stories with me.

Welcome to 2025, where we take back how stories are told in the Maritimes. If you have a story you want told, please reach out to me via my Facebook page found here. It’s the quickest and easiest form of communication for me to be in touch with!
