Why I scheduled an entire year of Blogs before the year even began

We’re back baby! And I know, I have a lot of explaining to do!

Life is hard. Blogging to really GET traction is HARD. Getting the regular readers, having the feeling of continued growth, I feel like to achieve that, consistency is key. I feel like I personally want to see blogs that are active. Not that I don’t care about your trip from five maybe 10 years ago, but I want to also make you feel like you are living along with me. I want someone to read one blog and feel like they know me, no edited photos or fancy graphics. If they do look fancy though yes I take credit! I knew that I couldn’t regularly produce blogs a minimum of 2x a week so I put a pause on it. Until now!

Okay if you have been following since September you would see that I had a fantastically received series about homelessness and the opiate crisis here in Canada and more specifically Nova Scotia. Which you can expect to see more blogs like this with controversial things happening. More relevant and in the moment blogs. News worthy ones that if it happens I’ll be diving into every possible avenue and then hopefully sharing the details and thoughts within the day or two the time crunch is on! Which isn’t exactly possible in this moment in my life while regularly putting out blogs but have no fear, this year we are digging deep and doing the stuff! Seriously. Another is with a spouse who seemingly will be traveling a good part of the year this be a huge time filler to keep things regularly going and the bit of fast paced writing as stories hit the world!

Another is is sometimes I don’t feel like writing at all. Content creation in my space has become more diverse. I have been finding a lot of success in streaming more to my Facebook page as I ever have with Twitch. I have been also trying to grow a Nova Scotia group and a few other side projects too. Twitter I need to step up as I am slacking majorly in that area and Instagram I am doing well on trying to schedule things too. And in case you also were wondering, YES, I am also still sewing and trying to get that segment of creation off the ground too! Lets be real, there truly isn’t enough hours in the day here but I am trying to make something work!

Since writing the homelessness and opiate crisis blog series I have been itching to do more things as they happen. I want to do news worthy stories. Events that happen and need to be written about immediately. I want to pull readers in with Information as fast as it happens with an opinionated spin. Maybe some critical thinking. Who knows. But I want to write about some reviews on shows that are popular. Maybe sprinkle some poetry freshly written for the blogs. One major motivator for this is seeing how the media really isn’t for anyone else but the higher ups. I say this because I know of stories covered by local stations and they certainly pick and choose which to pick up, but also which details to seemingly leave out. It’s time that as a country we begin to take back our news stories. We begin to tell stories for that they are. No removing important information that doesn’t fit a narrative.

When creating this blog years ago I wanted it to be streaming focused. Talking only tips and tricks about streaming. Repeating the same crap that I seen but trying to innovate it with blog format. Needless to say after a year and my interest in streaming on Twitch slowly decreased over the years, it was a stale topic for me, very stale. This blog has moved through so many avenues through my life from pregnancy to raising children and more. Now I want to showcase all of me. I want you to get a real look at a real person. I don’t edit my photos. I don’t have someone I hired to help. I am a one woman, problem solving, time managing superstar mother of 3. I can do this!

Another huge reason why I wanted to hammer down and really plan ahead as I have so much content that isn’t really optimized for you, the reader, to discover easier. Again though as someone who does everything herself, it’s also a learning curve! I want to learn how to properly have blogs found. Which means that I need to search and figure out how to edit older blogs so they can easily be picked up. Funny enough like my “Tim Horton’s Sucks Now” blog which regularly gets hits for whoever knows why. Maybe because I’m blunt and Timmy’s is a hot topic especially here in Canada. And as I mentioned before the mini 8 week series I did as I ramped up to this return has been wildly accepted.

At the end of the day I want you to come to this blog when you want a realist perspective. Or maybe some tough love. And maybe you want to suggest a few ideas too. I have a few of those in the works also! Ones people have tipped off that I need to research a little bit and prepare because it may not be a topic that I truly know much about. Knowledge is power. And if i can help shed some light on various topics to a wide variety of people, like me. I want to so it. Especially as Canadians we crave some sort of news that hasn’t been overly censored or gears towards a particular stance. Or even in personal experience seeing various stories missing very key points of information to again, cater to a particular narrative.

Regardless of the reasons though. This blog is going to be going places and I cannot wait to share that with everyone. I have high hopes. I want to share a raw, funny, real lifestyle. No crazy professional photo shoots or words you don’t even know what they mean. We are just getting started, again! Buckle up.
